Summary
For the last six months or so there has been an increasing buzz in the e-learning marketplace. Learning management systems (LMS) producers such as Plateau Systems for the US and VTN from Canada have respectively begun to expand their UK and European operations or made plans to cross the pond and enter the UK market. There have been some changes in the marketplace -- including EBC finally becoming part of the larger Futuremedia stable. There are further encouraging figures to add to the generally upbeat views of the growing size of the UK and European training/learning markets. The market for corporate learning materials in Europe is currently estimated to be worth some $893 million and this is expected to reach $2.1 billion by 2007.
