During the war made by Hezbollah on Jul 2, UN failed to ensure the implementation of resolution 1559, including the disarmament of all militias in Lebanon while ensuring the country's territorial integrity under the authority of its government, including the southern border with Israel. According to Mekelberg, Lebanon's infrastructure and economy were badly harmed; more than one million Israelis were under daily attack with hundreds of missiles almost bringing life to a standstill.
