Summary

INDIAN legend Sourav Ganguly became the second player of India's golden generation to announce his retirement. He closed his career with a first-ball dismissal in the second innings at Nagpur, but that should take nothing from his illustrious career. Ganguly played 444 international matches in total, including 113 Tests. He smashed nearly 18,000 runs in all matches including 16 centuries in Tests and 22 in ODIs. The Prince of Kolkata will surely be missed from India's middle order.

MS Dhoni: India's Captain Marvel- Marvellous led his team to their first series lous victory over Australia since 2001. Dhoni's record as skipper against the Aussies reads 2-0 and he seems to be flourishing in charge of the national team. India look to be in safe hands, even with the loss of some senior players.

India's total of 441 was daunting but Australia tried to make a fist of things. Spinners Amit Mishra and [Harbhajan Singh] did the business, taking five wickets between them in the first innings to reduce the visitors' charge towards their total, bowling them out for 355. Virender Sehwag (92) and Murali Vijay (41) got stuck in at the top of the innings before India were reduced to 166-6. But in stepped Dhoni, and with Harbhajan, smashed a 108-run partnership to help set Australia a daunting 382-run victory target.
