The construction of gas stations and exploitation of reserves would enable it to achieve at the very least a more reliable power supply, while still being able to export liquefied gas. For oil companies to feel under pressure from the government of Nigeria to treat its people and environment as they might treat the people and environment of the Shetland Islands, they need to see accountable government responding to the public and exploiting oil earnings for the benefit of the country.
