Summary
Saif: When I started out, producers didn't understand the way I worked, and vice versa. The usual set-up didn't suit me, not because of any snobbery, but because I'm not a good improviser. I needed to have my script and lines so I could work on them. For so long I was comfortable in my world, doing films like Dil Chahta Hai and Hum Tum. I was a little wary of the old-school directors. Now I have decided to venture out and try cinema I thought I wouldn't be comfortable with. I've worked with Abbas-Mastan. Today I'm open to work with anyone.
It's probably the most fascinating character that I have played in some ways. Although he is successful and lives alone, he doesn't have a debauched kind of life. He seems incredibly disciplined and organised and has this weird butler who looks after his stuff. He's got a pretty hot girlfriend but doesn't take her too seriously because it's impossible to take her seriously.[Rani]: [Kunal Kohli] decided to give me one particular look in the film. There is an angel look and a separate earth look because in the story, she can't reveal to anyone that she's an angel. Kunal wanted one specific look for when she is on earth and that's when Manish Malhotra came into the picture. He designed an outfit that was wearable in the whole film.
