Summary
In 2006 Anti-Slavery International won the award. Director Aidan McQuade said that BeMOBO helped to raise awareness of their organisation. 'Winning the BeMOBO award helped draw attention to our work during the bicentennial commemoration of the abolition of the Transatlantic Slave Trade,' he said.
'The MOBO Awards were a good platform to dispel the myth that slavery is a thing of the past and that a renewed effort is needed in the present to eradicate slavery in all its modern forms.'This year's show will be held at Wembley Arena on Wednesday 15 October. Founded by Kanya King MBE in 1996, MOBO has grown to become Europe's leading black music brand.See the full content of this document
