Art collection found in Egypt
Egyptian art authorities found a long forgotten collection of European artworks in the storehouses of the Gezira Museum. The artworks were acquired in the 1920s as part of the Egyptian government's intent to form a significant art collection. The paintings, which include works by Degas, Sisley, Rodin, Courbet and Monet, have suffered from their long storage. A few were in a good condition and were exhibited in Paris, France. The works will be permanently housed in the Gezira Museum when it finishes renovations in the year 2000.See the full content of this document
