UN-sponsored book on Islamic views on family planning

Muslim women rarely used birth control methods because they believed that these methods are forbidden under Islamic law. The UN Population Fund is sponsoring the publication of a book entitled Family Planning in the Legacy of Islam to combat ignorance of Islamic law on the part of women who refuse to adopt birth control methods. The book shows that contraception has been endorsed by Islam for several centuries now. The book is expected to be distributed to Muslim countries around the world.
