E-learning needs to focus more on mirroring the environments people live and work in. There is no rocket science involved in developing effective e-learning solutions. Increasing an individual's knowledge and skill is about identifying where they are against where they need to be, delivering interventions to get them to the required level, and then this should become a constant loop. This basic module can be used for existing, new or change of role/career. Too often training has been seen as a luxury rather than a necessity, it has always been the first budget to be axed and whenever there has been an e-learning requirement more often than not it has fallen short of success. People must build e-learning solutions which focus on the learning objectives, stimulating the mind and challenging the learners, but which are not fueled with complicated wizardry.

So let's stop developing the flash rubbish that has plagued the elearning industry for a long time, and focus on what we really need to do - drive e-learning into the future.
