It is amazing how people can put off something before they have even started it. Rumors and past experiences can really impact their ability to embrace new challenges. Many organizations are equally nervous of embracing (or re-embracing) e-learning -- even though, from a technology perspective, it is easier than ever before. The big barrier to effective implementation that is most likely to be reported is cultural change. Changing culture can often feel like an onerous task -- one of those things that is likely to put people off before they start. One challenge in addressing change is implementing e-learning globally where offices in different nations will have differing cultures.
