Which is better for business? Ghana seems to have an edge over Nigeria in terms of the ease of doing business, and entrepreneurs are recognising this, to set up shop in Ghana, which is fast becoming an investment destination of choice in Africa, according to Frederick Mordi.

The CEO of a Lagos-based pharmaceutical company once remarked that if he had the choice between setting up a business in Nigeria or Ghana, he would chose the latter.

His reasons are not farfetched. In Lagos, the commercial capital of Nigeria, it could take a manufacturer up to 34 days to complete a total of nine procedures before he gets a permit, according to findings by Doing Business in Nigeria.
