Former Liverpool players, including Bruce Grobbelaar and Michael Thomas, have spent the last two weeks running a football camp for 8-16-year-olds in Southall, west London. The scheme, set up by David Johnson and called 'The Liverpool Way' was run in conjunction with the Elite Academy, started by Chana Gill, who wants to bring in former professionals to coach youngsters around the world.
He said: "Sometimes players from the Asian community don't play in mixed teams and scouts don't come into the Asian community. But clubs should send their scouts there and look at the talent that is around.""Asians are not in the culture because they haven't been taught," said the Zimbabwean.
