DIY is still on the increase. The corporate sector and now, finally, small and medium-sized enterprises are realizing that they can actually spend more time getting content right, than getting content working -- the normal war stories around SCORM and AICC with third-party developers. They are doing this with good rapid development tools. With little ownership and no reward, the SME reluctantly burns the candle to meet the demands of the latest- e-learning project. Rapid development -- or DIY -- can cut out the middle man and give ownership to the content experts, thereby bringing you into the warm lap of the business, in the nicest possible way. DIY is fit for purpose, cheap, flexible and disposable. Successful rapid development in the corporate world is about using real people in the business -- they build it, own it, market it and love it. All you need to do is support/guide them.
