[Shoaib Malik] is confident of staying on as Pakistan captain. He said: "I did not tell anybody to make me captain. I was chosen to lead Pakistan and I have been doing the job in the best possible manner."

Malik was appointed skipper of Pakistan after their humiliation in the World Cup in the Caribbean last year. The 26-year-old replaced Inzamamul- Haq, who resigned from the post. There are a number of possible replacements for Malik - among the favourites are current vice-captain Misbah-ul- Haq, Younis Khan and Shahid Afridi.
