Summary
One sizzling song that has the potential to be a great summer anthem is Ishq Hogaya, the first single from exciting new Manchester duo Bonafide. To find out more about the duo and their sound, Eastern Eye went along to meet rapper Maz and singer Ziggy on a yacht in St Katharine's Dock in London.
Ziggy: It's not just a desi album. We have got a lot of r'n'b tunes on it and some really deep, intellectual hip-hop tunes as well, which is another side to our persona. There are some uptempo party tracks too. We think there is something on it for everyone.Maz: We are British Asians so we listen to the Asian side as well as western tunes. We grew up listening to a lot of Motown stuff from Lionel Richie, Boys II Men, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye; and 1990s r'n'b by acts like 112 and Jagged Edge. Ziggy is a singer so he's influenced by all of these. I'm a rapper so I'm influenced by Nas, Biggie, Tupac, Mos Def and Talib Kweli. In addition, I also love qawwali.See the full content of this document
