Not another initiative It is easy to see the purpose and need for each initiative when considered individually, but just how should you mix these initiatives to provide a valuable experience for learners? A good starting point is to consider what planned experiences you want for your learners from year 7 onwards, whatever their curriculum pathways There should be a deliberate progression of activities. Later, the school might take ownership of organising and delivering the collapsed days Getting involvement and support from the senior management team (SMT) is easier if school managers can see the value of enterprise through its impact on learners. Some successful approaches Schools plan enterprise days to offer challenges related to different curriculum areas In one school I observed, representativesfrom curriculum areas met to agree aims, went back to their colleagues, designed their contribution and fed their ideas into further meetings.
